AI, AI, AI. It’s all I hear about anymore, and it has me worried. Don’t get me wrong…Parts of it are exciting, and parts of it are a little scary, but there’s not enough talk (IMHO) about one major part of it: the effect on human connection.
In fact, this effect has me SO curious that I’m dedicating the new few editions of this newsletter to exploring this topic. What are the experts saying? Where are we already seeing this effect in online communities? Why doesn’t “human connection” get the same buzz as “AI?!” Why should community professionals be concerned about this?
If you’re curious too, then I invite you to join me here on Substack as we take a dive into all-things-human-connection.

Looking forward to hearing more of your insights around AI and it impact on human connection, Jenny.
I share your caution on this, as AI is so often seen as a time-saver and cost-saver and if that attitude starts to grow, we'll see AI being deployed in roles and tasks that it was never designed for, and could prove disastrous for certain orgs and communities.
AI certainly has its place and can be super useful for language processing and data analysis, but it has to be carefully used for the right tasks, and verified and checked along the way.
