The Unofficial Events Around CMX Summit 2023
The following is a list of events taking place in the San Francisco Bay Area around the time frame of CMX Summit 2023. These are all independently-organized gatherings. You can find the official CMX Summit schedule here.Â

Monday, Oct. 2
5-7:30pm. Joel Primack, in partnership with Common Room, is hosting a social hour for Community Pros in SF as the first stop on his Making Memories Tour 2023. Here’s the post about it. If you want to attend, connect with him on LinkedIn and mention you’d like to join the SF one in your connection request. It will be held at Fable, located in the Castro neighborhood.
Tuesday, Oct. 3
6-8pm. CMX Warm Up (Redwood City), hosted by Ed Giansante. Come mingle the night before the Summit officially begins!
Wednesday, Oct. 4
7:45-8:45am. Community Consultancy Collective breakfast/coffee meetup. Open to any community consultants! The location is right next to the Fox Theatre so that everyone can walk over together. You do not need to be a member of the CCC to join. Contact me to get on the calendar invite.Â
12:15-1:45pm. Crafty Hour, hosted by Carolyn Zick. Taking place during the CMX lunch hour. (Kits will be provided, but please know that individuals will be responsible for their own lunch cost.)
12:15-2pm. Khoros & iTalent Lunch. You do NOT have to be a client of either company to RSVP.
6:30pm. Common Room’s 2nd Annual Pizza Party. You do NOT have to be a Common Room client to attend.
7-9:30pm. Khoros & iTalent Dinner. You do NOT have to be a client of either company to RSVP.
8-10:30pm. Live Piano Karaoke, hosted by Feverbee & Jenny.Community. No RSVP necessary. Just show up and sing/cheer!
Friday, Oct. 6
10:30am-4:30pm in San Mateo. Connection: The Community Community (TCC) Unconference (for members of TCC only)
5:30pm. Happy hour in the Castro (location: The Mix), organized by Hass Mirza. Invite open to any community pros, regardless of whether you attended CMX or the Unconference or neither.
Pop-Up Community
If you’re staying at The Kasa Niche Hotel in Redwood City, and want to be part of a temporary WhatsApp group during the week of CMX, contact me and I’ll get you added.
